ENTIGRITY IS NOW SOC 2 TYPE 1 COMPLIANT

Choosing which offshore service provider to use for your accounting and non-accounting processes is difficult enough without having to worry about whether or not the companies you're considering are secure. We are happy to announce that Entigrity has achieved SOC 2 compliance, so you can be confident that our systems and your information are secure with us. For the record, our team has always placed a premium on the security of our clients' data and our own processes, and SOC 2 Type 1 compliance simply adds another layer of assurance to our customers.

Here is the report for your perusal.

WHAT IS SOC 2?

SOC is an acronym for Systems and Organizational Controls, which was coined by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). A SOC report is the result of a thorough audit by an external auditor.

SOC 2 Type 1 examines your organization's internal controls at a specific point in time. It evaluates your organization's SOC 2 compliance posture and determines whether the controls in place meet the requirements of the framework. A SOC 2 report demonstrates that a service organization has secure control over the systems and processes that handle private or sensitive data for its customers. SOC 2 is based on five trust criteria and includes the following modules:

  • Security: During both processing and storage, information is protected from unauthorized access and damage.
  • Availability:  Systems are monitored, and well-maintained.
  • Confidentiality: Sensitive information is safeguarded in accordance with applicable laws or contractual agreements.

HOW ENTIGRITY EXCEEDS SOC EXPECTATIONS

Going through a SOC audit is a painful process for many vendors because it highlights the massive amount of work that needs to be done to achieve the required security levels. Entigrity's SOC audit was actually fairly painless because we were already mostly compliant. That's because we already exceeded the audit requirements in almost every aspect of our business. Our clients’ data has always been secure because we have made sure to always have everything in place, from strong encryption and certified data centers to application security and regular audits.

The company's organizational structure serves as the overall framework for planning, directing, and controlling operations. Personnel and business functions have been divided into functional groups based on job responsibilities. This approach assists the organization in defining responsibilities, reporting lines, and communication channels, as well as allowing employees to focus on the specific business issues affecting its clients.

The responsibilities and qualifications required for each position in the company are outlined in formal job descriptions. Training requirements are identified on an ongoing basis and are determined by the company's current and anticipated needs. External internet access outside of that in the Entigrity Network, is required for file uploading and communication with the client. The use of the internet is restricted by a firewall and moreover, the IT Team reviews and recommends changes to web and protocol filtering rules on a regular basis.

As evidenced by the compliance certification, Entigrity has established robust protocols, internal standards, and policies as per the AICPA standards for security, availability, integrity, confidentiality, and privacy controls. The certification aims to increase clients’ confidence in sharing critical data with complete peace of mind. Entigrity has always put data privacy and secure processes first. You can have confidence that your information is secure with us. It will only be used for the purposes intended and will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
