Wipfli, a Top 20 Firm based in Milwaukee, has merged with Mueller Prost, a regional leader headquartered in St. Louis, effective June 1. Wipfli, which was founded in 1930 and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has about 2,900 staff and 84,000 clients.
Wipfli's footprint will extend to Missouri and Southern California as a result of the transaction, while its staff base in India will grow. All 221 Mueller Prost associates, including 21 partners, will join Wipfli as part of the acquisition. After the merger, Wipfli will have over 2,900 associates and roughly 300 partners.
With $401.81 million in annual revenue, Wipfli was ranked 19th on Accounting Today's Top 100 Firms list for 2021. With $24.8 million in annual revenue, Mueller Prost was placed 18th among the Midwest Regional Leaders.
Mueller Prost was founded in 1983 and now serves over 4,300 clients in 47 states with tax, audit and assurance, and business advisory services.
Wipfli offers specific experience in the healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit, construction, and real estate industries, similar to Mueller Prost. Wipfli also caters to financial institutions, governments, private equity, financial services, tribal gaming and government, agriculture, and dealerships.
